IMPORTANT EMAIL POLICY - PLEASE READ!

Important Notice - Changes to GB3FR

Due to persistent abuse of the repeater by one or two individuals we have been required by the authorities to change the operating system of GB3FR slightly with effect from Saturday 5th October 2002.

This will not cause any problems to those who operate correctly within the terms of their licence, and whose radio is operating correctly to specification: this particularly applies to 1750 tonebursts.

To access GB3FR after the above date it will be necessary to transmit for a minimum of five seconds, with either the correct CTCSS tone (71.9), or with a 1750 toneburst which must be of between 0.2 and 0.8 seconds duration. Longer tonebursts will not be recognised! The first two seconds of this initial transmission is not relayed; the operator must then give their callsign after the first two seconds of transmission.  The repeater will then continue to operate as normal.

To sum up -

Transmit your initial call for a minimum of five seconds, giving your callsign  after two or three seconds.

Make sure your toneburst is working to specification - or upgrade to .   CTCSS!
