GB3SO

Following its closure and removal from Pilgrim Hospital in Boston GB3SO has now been re-established at a new temporary site in Sutton on Sea with two four element
slots at 5 metres, running 18 watts erp. This is just a start. The output is on 433.000 MHz and input 434.600 MHz,  CTCSS 71.9 Hz. It has a useful footprint but is not working to its top level, there is room for improvement.

Plans are in place for it to be moved to a better site in Skegness when the NoV has been changed and approved by Ofcom. This site should give a greater coverage and full footprint as required.

Update 1st May 2016 (M0MFP)

The test phase at Sutton on Sea is over and the system is now off the air. It has been relocated to a new site on the edge of Skegness and tested. This now requires a new NoV to be submitted to the RSGB Repeater Working Group as the footprint and repeater  personnel have changed.

A new NoV application been submitted for the new site; this may take some time as GB3SO is on 70 cm and would be with the next batch back submitted by the RSGB. We hope it will be back on the air full time in a few months.  There is also the possibility of a D-Star repeater on the same site.
